On Wednesday, 5 December 2018, we'll be holding our regular planning law update with Tony Bowhill FRICS FRTPI, a planning consultant with a wealth of knowledge and an eye for highlighting the salient points in planning legislation and case law.
This year's breakfast property seminar with B P Collins solicitors will take place on Thursday, 29 November 2018. The focus will be on mixed-use properties.

Roofing maintenance and refurbishment sits high on the list of a surveyor's priorities because of the cost and disruption when roofing fails. In this seminar on profiled roofing and cladding, Matt Bishop of Giromax will cover:
- profiled steel - sheet make-up and cut edge corrosion
- factory coatings
- asbestos cement
- rooflights, bolts and fixings, gutters
- survey safety.
Matt has previously delivered this seminar to some firms in the region and comes highly recommended.
Steve Turner of Old House Store will be talking about the use of lime in construction today and building conservation. The talk will cover the history of lime as a building material, its manufacture and use in both new build and building conservation.
Old House Store is a specialist builders merchant that supplies a range of traditional building materials. It is part of the Owlsworth Group that includes a contracting firm and a manufacturer of lime mortars, plasters and renders.
PPN invites you to join them for an informal day at Denham Golf Club for their Autumn Golf Day on Thursday, 1 November 2018. Denham's parkland course, designed by Harry Colt, challenges golfers of all abilities, whether an accomplished golfer or relatively new to the game.
The Club is approximately 5 minutes from J1 of the M40, 10 minutes from J16 of the M25, 20 minutes from West London and 30 minutes from Heathrow. Denham Golf Club railway station is only 20 minutes from London Marylebone.

PPN (the Property People's Network) is delighted that Professor Tony Travers of the London School of Economics will give the PPN Annual Lecture, entitled "The Future for Transport in London - where will the Money come from?".
The event will take place on Wednesday, 24 October at the Freemasons' Hall, Great Queen Street, London WC2B 5AZ. The cost is £25.00 for PPN members, 3CPD subscribers, guests and non-members; £15.00 for UCEM alumni; £10.00 for UCEM students.
The EU's new data protection legislation, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), came into force on 25 May 2018. Despite the legislation having been published two years ago and being only 88 pages long, there has been a shortage of easily-accessible, practical advice for smaller organisations, leaving many wondering what they need to do to stay on the right side of the law.
